'tis better to give
The holiday season is finally here which means a lot of giving (and hopefully receiving) will take place.
Many of us have tons of people we’d love to give gifts to but our pockets may not be as large as our hearts (insert raised hand). So today I’m here to give you two gift ideas that are super affordable and easy to personalize for every person on your list.
Magazine Subscriptions
So I’m actually stealing this idea from my grandmother; she’s done this many times in the past and I think it’s such an amazing idea. Magazine subscriptions can range from $10-$20 depending on the publication but the fact that they last for an entire year is what gives you a bang for your buck; it’s like giving 12 different gifts for the price of one…right? There are a plethora of topics to choose from which will be perfect for anyone in your life such as style, business and home décor. Got someone on your list that enjoys history or maybe a new parent? They’ve got magazines on those topics as well. They even make magazines for children and teens so this is perfect for all ages.
Create Your Own Box
I’m sure we’ve all seen the rise in subscriptions boxes and may actually be a member of one or two. The beauty of a subscription box is the idea of receiving a curated selection of items based on your personal interests. So why not use that same concept to create your own gift for someone? Purchasing a subscription box for someone could be upwards of $30 and some may not offer the option of a one-time purchase. By creating your own box, or starter kit, you can control how much you spend and select which items go inside. This is such a fun gift to put together because you can do so much with it. Know someone who loves to cook? Your box could include an apron, a recipe book and a gift card to the grocery store for ingredients. Perhaps you want to add to their spice collection, so why not purchase a few unique seasonings to create a set? Or perhaps your best friend is a beauty junkie… get her a few new lipsticks she can rock or different kinds of mascara! I could literally go on and on and with ideas; the possibilities are endless!
