birthday fail + printed romper

This past Sunday was not only launch day (insert celebration dance) but it was also my birthday (insert another celebration dance)! And let me tell you… it was nothing that I imagined it would be. Check the formula below for a quick, easy recap:

(failed dinner plans + long wait at the only restaurant capable of accommodating my large party at the last minute)

(anger + sadness/disappointment)

= nothing great about turning 28!

Ok ok, I’m being a bit dramatic considering I’m very grateful to see another year and there were a few laughs shared but it was just awful y’all. So awful that I took zero pictures of what I was wearing that night. But if I didn’t post anything on social media then it never really happened right? So we’re just going to act like I didn’t already wear this exact outfit a few days ago *wink*

I actually had no idea what I was going to wear to my terrible dinner that night. To my surprise, my mom and niece picked out this cute romper as a gift for me. I loved it as soon as I saw it. The mix of prints is eye catching but not too busy and I love the lace up detail near the neckline. I let the romper steal the show by keeping everything else pretty simple in terms of accessories.

I rarely ever get to wear this purse because: 1) I don’t own a lot of pink, and 2) it’s one of those statement purses you pull out every now and then. This bag gives me classic Chanel vibes, which is the closest I’m going to get the brand for right now. Remember, it’s all about inspiration and not imitation!

My birthday celebration might've sucked but at least my outfit didn't!
