Is it still summer if we can’t go outside?
Teyana Taylor recently released a new album so she’s getting a lot of buzz on Apple music. She also curated a playlist titled Teyana Taylor’s Summer Cookout which she describes as her “go-to when I need to get a vibe going”. I took a listen and it really is the perfect summer vibe. I could see myself at a cookout in my short shorts with a red SOLO cup in my hand, swaying to the music.
I don’t know about where you’re from but I feel like the radio plays a different set of tunes when those warm summer months come around. That’s when you know it’s time for some braids or plaits because it’s about to be too hot to have any kind of hair on your neck. Break out the crop tops and sandals because minimal clothing is a must. Listening to that playlist got me to think about what my own summer playlist would be. Teyana gave us that 90s summer time era. She had a few songs that I couldn’t possibly leave off of my list (because what is summer without them) but I also wanted to try something a little different.
